Stuck (Inktober 2021 – Day twelve)

I’ve mentioned it a few times, but I do feel a little stuck with Inktober this year.

It’s not so much that I’m busy, but rather that this year I’m not inspired, not in the right headspace for some reason. The fact that a lot of the prompts are adjectives doesn’t help. Adjectives are probably the best inspirations for someone who can draw (as in “who can create something from scratch”), but not for people like me who can’t do that, and can pretty much only draw “things” not “ideas” if that makes sense.

But do you know who hasn’t been stuck at all?

My kids!

Here is what my daughter drew a little while ago:

Stuck H

I think that she did a really good job and with some more experience, she could kick ass at Inktober. However, for some reason, she got bored after 15 drawings in an hour or so.

My son, on the other hand, has already completed Inktober 2021:

I have to admit that I think that he has half-assed the second half a little bit. You can tell that his older sister wasn’t there for inspiration then. On the other hand, the goal of drawing for a 6yo may not exactly be the same as for an adult. In this case, it mostly was to spend time with dad and do the same as him.
