No, it’s not a rhyme or a fable, it’s that weird caterpillar who decided to make a cocoon on the floor next to my front door a few days ago.
You may not need to be an entomologist to understand that this is not usual and not exactly safe.
Curious about it, we decided to be careful and not step on it until something happens.
Well, this morning, the cocoon was gone, but less than a meter away, there was a butterfly indeed:
It had trouble moving and I didn’t give him much hope to survive the day.
It was gone an hour or two later. I doubt it flew away. A sparrow may have had a nice snack instead.
This, too, is nature running its course…
